Lower American River Conservancy Program News

Please join the Wildlife Conservation Board for the second Advisory Committee meeting of the year for the Lower American River Conservancy Program being held Thursday, September 1, 2022, in CNRA’s headquarters, first floor auditorium, in downtown Sacramento and also via Zoom. All are welcome to join. The meeting will be from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The Wildlife Conservation Board has prepared new General Grant Guidelines which are now available. The goal of the new Guidelines is to simplify and streamline the grant application process for applicants with a single pre-application and full application process. Project proponents wishing to apply for funding through WCB’s Lower American River Conservancy Program will use this new process. What’s great about this new process is that it’s open year-round, applicants may consult with WCB staff at any time, and each application will be considered by all WCB grant programs, opening the door to other funding sources and opportunities for Parkway projects.

WCB hosted a workshop in April 2022 to discuss the Guidelines and answer questions. If you missed it, check out the recording on the WCB Grants Page.

Join staff of WCB and members of the Lower American River Conservancy Program Advisory Committee on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, for our third tour of the lower American River Parkway. The goals of this tour are to educate the committee members and WCB staff on the current conditions of the Parkway and learn about potential and current community investment sites. Members of the public are invited to participate but are responsible for their own transportation.
